One of the main causes of the imbalance of China’s demographic situation is the one child policy and preference for sons. This concerns demographers as the dearth of young women arises, it affects the future of at least 20 percent of men will be unable to marry. The surplus of 40-50 million bachelors existing in China leads unmarriageable men to turn into potentials in disrupting societies as they may be involved in the percentage of the increased crime scenes. In China’s poorer provinces, the bachelors sometimes are aggravated by the presence of ethnic minorities, as social tensions are caused of gender imbalances in the area. The floating populations in China – 10 to 30 per cent of the floating population are involved in criminal secret societies which are one of the causes of crime rates increment in China.

China’s demographic situation becomes more complex by its ageing population growth and decline in the labor force. China development is not up to par with other countries, majority of the population are poor, and has the highest sex ratio in the world. In regarding China’s ageing, it is expected to be dangerous for the Chinese government due to economic effects of aging and abnormal sex ratios in China. These will likely form an economic slowdown worse than the Great Recession of 2008 happening to China. When this happens, the economic slowdown will worsen the economic condition existing in China. Also resulting, young men in China to be involve in crimes to sustain their living.
