Since the beginning of my life I have been studying. In the early years of my childhood I didn't quite understand what my role was all about. I always wondered why it is that I have to go to school everyday because my mom said to. When I was growing up I found the answer by myself. I started to understand when I was about 13 years old. I began to see school as the place to get knowledge that my parents can't teach me at home. I also saw (and actually see) school as a place to play, have positive thoughts and enjoy life without forgetting about class and what society is expecting from us. School is also a good place to socialize and make good friends that care and have the same interest in success as I do. Now being 17 years old I know a lot more of myself. I can make and I have made decisions that really have a direct effect on me. Two years ago I decided to do my best at school to have a good high school education and make myself better every day. Due to my coming to the United States late, my English was poor. I spent time working hard on that even after ESL program. Although it ended up not having too much time for other classes such as math and science and in turn lowered my class scores and GPA rank in class, it was worth as I learned how to express my thoughts well in English. I've long since learned to organize my time efficiently and now I can juggle schoolwork make time for many of my favorite activities. Since I am in love with my school I have accomplished many things like doing extracurricular activities and volunteering. I participated in a lot of activities throughout my high school career, including German club, tennis, marching band, project help, FBLA, and countless math contests. German club was very interesting for me because I got to learn more about the German culture. Tennis was a lot of fun.
