Hongxing Ore Beneficiation Plant Has Been Awarded

Hongxing's Industry business group has been awarded a services assignment by Industry Association for detailed engineering to finalize the iron ore beneficiation plant. The parties have agreed that the value of the assignment will not be disclosed.

The machine has to be positioned in front of the face just roughly by the machine operator. With a laser scanning process the position of the coal seam in front of the machine is measured and evaluated. Afterwards a target plate on the boom needs to be positioned into the laser beam in order to get accurate machine position information. With all this measurement information the horizontal and vertical translation as well as rotation of the profile is evaluated by the software automatically.

In rugged areas like Morococha where government-run social programs are scarce and residents chew coca leaves to ward off hunger and altitude sickness, companies say they are forced to play the role of the state and build schools, roads and medical facilities, or face bouts of unrest. Chinese firms have at times been flashpoints. The stalled Rio Blanco copper project in northern Peru was stymied by bouts of violence before and after it was bought in 2007 by a company of China. An iron ore mine owned by China’s Hongxing group has been dogged by labour and safety tensions since it was bought in 1992.

Appeals are considered by the independent Appeals Convenor. The Convenor prepares a report for the Minister for Environment, Science on any appeals that may be received. The Minister then takes into consideration both the EPA's and the Convenor's report when making a final decision on any proposal.
