School Improvement Team: Problem to Address
Problem | In order to complete requirements to earn a high school diploma in Arizona, students are required to complete a minimum of three science courses (Arizona, n.d). Students who come in on the honors track as freshman take honors biology, honors chemistry, and then choose from physics, AP biology, AP chemistry, AP physics, or human biology to fulfill their third year requirement. Students who are not on the honors track are required to take investigative science, biology, and may then choose between chemistry, physics, of human biology to fulfill their third year requirement. Select students consider additional credits above and beyond state and district requirements. |

Narrative
In order to complete requirements to earn a high school diploma in Arizona, students are required to complete a minimum of three science courses. Currently at Perry High School, students who come in on the honors track as freshman take honors biology in ninth grade, honors chemistry in tenth grade, and then choose from physics, AP biology, AP chemistry, AP physics, or human biology. Students who are not on the honors track are required to take investigative science as a freshman, biology as a sophomore,...
