Lorna Simpson
Photography has been reintroduced to the world of art in a way that is distant from what use to be the norm. We would examine a photograph for what it was worth and would never concern ourselves with what lied beneath the surface. We would analyze the image from what the photographer captured in plain sight, allowing for the still image to be just that, still. Photographer/Artist, Lorna Simpson, has changed the game for us viewers. Her works are known to play on stereo types towards class and both racial and gender discrimination. The world of art that she has reintroduced us to is of a unique character. Her form of art is creative, leaving you full of thought, focusing in on acts beyond belief.
