Stress, Wellness, and Time Management

I completed the Holmes-Rahe Life Stress Inventory assessment. My current stress level is 610 total points. According to the Holmes-Rahe Life Stress Inventory assessment, “the odds of me having a major health breakdown in the next 2 years are raised to about 80%.” I understand that this is an abnormally high stress level but I use multiple stress-relieving techniques to counteract having any issues with my health. I have an amazing support system near me which include my family, friends and co-workers. I exercise every day and I have completely changed my eating habits over the course of the past year. I also manage my time really well with my calendar on my phone along with using very helpful apps on my phone like Evernote and Remember the Milk to keep me organized.

My support system is a huge positive in my life right now. My mom motivates me to keep pushing forward. My friends also cheer me on to continue with my hard work and remind me how accomplishing my short-term goals will only help in the long run to accomplish my long-term goals. My co-workers are the most amazing people I have ever met. One of my co-workers is also taking classes with Trident University and she checks in on me every day to see if I need any help or someone to talk to about any frustrations that I may have with any assignments. I also have another co-worker who is heavily into fitness and will hold me accountable with my diet and exercise every day. They encourage, empower, and motivate me to continue in all that I want to accomplish out of life. I couldn’t ask for a better support system than that.

My exercise routine includes running and strength training. I am currently training for a marathon. I set daily goals and that sense of fulfillment that I achieve from seeing my daily progression is a huge motivator for me. I have improved my Personal Record with my 5K run time which facilitates my marathon training. My co-workers...
