Background
Deere & Company is the leader competition in farm manufacturing and forestry equipment with over 47,000 employees in more than 110 countries around the world. The products of Deere’s company including the products in term of construction, commercial, consumer equipment, or even financing, power systems, special technology, and healthcare. The company that has headquartered in Moline, Illinois was founded in 1837 (History, 2014). Over 170 years in farm manufacturing industry, Deere’s company has their net sale more than $19 billion dollars with total assets over $34 billion dollars and cost of sold $15 billion dollars in 2006 (Wisner, Tan & Leong, 2011). Deere & Company has not only internal improvement and training program for their employees, but also has training program for their suppliers.
Complex Part Inc. is the main supplier of John Deere past over 10 year with a key manufactured part that requiring engineering support and testing. Complex Part Inc. was provided all of demand from Deere’s company with annual sale around $3.5 million dollars. With the strategic such as, send sale engineers to discuss every week, brainstorm with Deere’s cost reduction strategies and design changes, and keep improving Deere’s Product Quality Plan make Complex Part Inc. become to the main supplier of Deere Company and they still need to increase their sales to Deere Company (Wisner, Tan & Leong, 2011). Complex Part Inc. is the key contractor that provides quality and quantity, product and service to Deere Company.
