Abstract

This paper will discuss leadership develop which is a teaching of leadership qualities, including communication ability to motivate others, and management to an individual who may or may not use the learned skills in a leadership position. In order to identify top performing employees within the company they must use tool and strategies to understand employee skills and where it could be used in the company and then provide them with the development needed to fulfill the leadership positions. These are the seven elements that will help with developing effective leader. Which are leadership style, potential leader, leadership gaps, succession plan, career planning, skills roadmap, and retention programs.

Leadership Development

Developing leadership skills can prepare a person for larger challenges in the future. Leadership development is define as a teaching of leadership qualities, including communication ability to motivate others, and management to an individual who may or may not use the learned skills in a leadership position (business dictionary, 2014). ‘Leadership development reflects a general plan to enhance the performance of all leaders in their current roles”. Therefore in this paper I want to discuss seven step to help develop effective leadership.

First let’s discuss the different leadership styles for an organization. One leadership style would be autocratic leadership, “it’s a person in charge that has total authority and control over making decision and employs a domineering approach to...
