Shale shakers are the primary solids control equipment on a rig. The used drilling fluid flows directly to the shale shakers after returning to the surface of the well, where it begins to be processed. Once processed by the shale shakers the drilling fluid is deposited into the mud tanks where other solid control equipment begin to remove the finer solids from it. The solids removed by the shale shaker are discharged out of the discharge port into a separate holding tank where they await further treatment or disposal.

The following description will focus on effective measures to make sure normal operation of shale shaker preventing high temperature conditions.

1/ Setting up shelter to reduce high temperature directly to shakers.

Excessive expose under the sun tends to make the machine reduce its service life and also may lead to faults as high working temperature of the whole machine, which will affects separation quality and efficiency, even causes machine parts damage such as damaged vibration motors. If shale shaker is operated indoor or cave dwelling, workers should be aware of adjusting the indoor temperature in order to keep ventilation. As long as make sure condition temperature is low than 40 centigrade for shakers, machine will be operated in good condition.

2/ Generally, high temperature of shale shaker mainly comes from vibration motor. If high temperature concentrates on the motor, it will have great influence its insulation material and easily causes low service life of shale shaker. So a temperature limit device is installed in the motor to reminder high temperature risk and some instant measures such as lower the temperature condition.

3/ Another crucial points should be pointed that proper selection of suitable motor can’t be ignored either. Accordingly, motors can never be too low power to save money which will easily cause unqualified operation effect and low service life of the motor.
