Cultural Differences
The person I chose as my partner on this assignment is my sister. The assignment does state that the person you choose needs to be from a different cultural background. Diana is from a different cultural background. She is my half sister and was raised by her Mexican mother. I, on the other hand, was raised by my Native American mother.
Although we were both raised to be more American than anything else, the backgrounds of the adults in our lives were significantly different. Those differences shaped each of our perceptions of the world around us. We went to different schools, had different teachers, and made different friends. Another thing that made Diana a good candidate for this assignment is that I had not met her, nor did I know of her existence, until early this year.

My Responses
In my responses, it seems as though the gender stereotype is based on a physical skill level. For instance, the occupations I viewed as primarily male required a skill such as fixing, drawing, driving or flying. The occupations I viewed as primarily female are the occupations that require emotional intelligence as well as mental intelligence.
