“America’s Responsibility to the Rest of the World”
America has little military responsibility to other countries like sending military
forces everywhere in the world in to discharge it responsibility to protect
American’s. Why is it so hard to understand that America is not the savior of
other countries? When we do things alone and other countries, the people of
those countries aren’t doing it for themselves, as soon as we leave, we start
getting the same problems. Millions of American’s live below poverty level, yet
we give billions to other countries, deploying our military men and women to
assist in their aid. I don’t mean hand people money, but what I am saying is let
these countries figure out their own problems instead of sending our husbands,
our wives, our young adults who are honestly not ready for this type of
engagement. American households are being affected by these types of decisions
on a daily basis. Whose responsibility is it to protect these countries and their
people? We must question why and how the government has decides if we go to
war and who decides to send our men and women in harm’s way. America cannot
afford to be dragged into more endless, undeclared combat missions that batter
the souls of our military families and drive us further into debt. Our government
has no obligation except to protect the American people when we are
threatened. America has absolutely nothing to gain by intervening in other
countries disputes. Besides, we have so much more to lose. We simply cannot
and should not be the policeman of other countries. The actual dilemma isn’t in
deciding whether to protect other countries from their government, but rather
what conditions warrant intervention. Military intervention is wrong and will
handicap our country even more with endless debt, loss of life, and a reputation
of using its position as a way of power control of the world. America would make
much more progress...
