Stakeholders

The stakeholders in this scenario include PharmaCARE, CompCARE and WellCo. Within each of these organizations we can identify additional stakeholders that are typical to a corporation such as owners, investors, employees, customers, creditors and suppliers.

Specifically mentioned in the scenario are the employees of PharmaCARE at the headquarters office in New Jersey; employees of CompCARE that work at an office park also in New Jersey; and the Colberians who work in the jungle harvesting plants.

Patients are the customers who consume the products produced by PharmaCARE and the services provided by CompCARE and WellCo. In this case the target audience are those with low income, and of particular note are the elderly and veterans. Under this category we can include Patient Advocacy Groups who advocate for patients in various areas to include education, compliance with federal regulations, quality care treatment and research. For example, the Alzheimer’s Association would have a vested interest in understanding the benefits or negative implications associated with AD23.

Healthcare Providers are another category of customers that includes healthcare professionals such as physicians, physician assistants, and nurses, as well as those facilities that provide healthcare service like hospitals and clinics.

The community at large is a stakeholder that has an interest in corporations for a variety of reasons particularly because of the company’s impact on the overall economy, degree of social responsibility and impact on the environment. This scenario specifically mentions PharmaCARE’s green initiatives and commitment to the environment. Environmental activist groups would also have an interest, not only in the company’s publicized green initiatives, but also in the damaged habitat of Colberia as a result of PharmaCARE’s activities, and lobbying efforts that have successfully...
