Once a Bowler

Since grade school, students are enrolled into various physical education classes that enable them to be physically fit and active in school. It has been said that physical activity increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain and may boost the growth of nerve cells in the brain’s center learning and memory. That is why P.E. classes are very essential for every student.

When I was in first year college, I remember we had our P.E. I and II which was table tennis/badminton and dance consecutively. And during our first term as second year college, we had our P.E. III which was volleyball and basketball. All these P.E. classes are very fun and exciting yet educational. Those P.E. I, II, III are all held at APC Gymnasium which made P.E. IV an exception because it was held at SM MOA Bowing Center.

Having a P.E. class such as bowling is very new to me because it would be my first time to touch a bowling ball and roll it over to the pins. At first, I was afraid to play and roll the ball because I really don’t know exactly what to do but thanks to the coaches who patiently teach us the lessons of bowling from its basics to its finest. I am very excited knowing that our P.E. class is bowling that is why I pushed myself to wake up 6 o’clock in the morning to go to the bowling center where our class starts as 8 a.m. Every Friday morning in the bowling center is such an exciting and good activity to start the day right. Just imagine the smiles it gives to us every time we hit the pins especially when we got a strike.

All these happiness, we owe to our coaches. Without them, we won’t have knowledge in bowling and won’t even recognize that we’re somehow good at it. They are not just ordinary coaches, they’re extraordinary because they really teach us individually as in per lane, they go to students to teach the basics.
