INTRODUCTION

Culture it is difficult to define as there is no single definition of culture. Culture is the characteristics of a particular group of people, defined by everything from language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. The continent of Africa has essential two cultures, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. The continent is comprised of a number of tribes and social group. Anthropologists believe that people use symbols to communicate their experiences, who they are and what they believe. It is important for every understand where someone’s culture come from and the meaning they are trying to convey before attacking other people culture or view it in terms of your own culture.

The article that made headlines in June 2014 about the Acting Chief operation of the SABC, Mr Hlaudi Motsoaneng, he was allegedly been offered the opportunity to choose a bride by VhaVenda lobby group during a ceremony.
