Abstract

This paper will answer questions from the week two exercise about understanding issues in organizational behavior simulation. The questions will address how effectively non-monetary incentives in relieving stress on the job? How does employee motivation impact organizational performance? What is the importance of culturally diverse workforce?

Simulation: Understanding Issues in Organizational Behavior

This paper will address the following questions from our week two simulation exercise. The questions are how effective are non-monetary incentives in relieving stress? How does employee motivation impact organizational performance? In today’s business environment what is the importance of culturally diverse workforce?

Non-monetary incentives can relieve stress in an organization comes in many forms. Employees under stress would most likely look forward to paid time off, schedule adjustments and the possibility of a more flexible work shift. In my experience non-monetary incentives have resulted in a more effective response from employees. Happy employees perform better and produce better results in the work environment.

Employee motivation can impact organizational performance by keeping the company productivity at an all time high and keeping absentee level to a minimum. Providing motivational training will help employees perform better and employee motivation is a positive reinforcement. Nevertheless, having a positive reinforcement is what builds the employees self-esteem and employee self-esteem is the way we see and feel about ourselves either internally, through our own beliefs, or externally through what we accept as the beliefs of others (Urichuck, Bob, 2008).
