The change in global climate is one of the most significant problems planet earth faces today. Indications of climate change and global warming are rapidly increasing, but our nations’ dependency on the economy and impacts of capitalism is not only making this issue worse, but almost completely preventing the need for a solution. It is increasingly obvious that our dependency on the economy and the desire to seek wealth is considered far more important than the current state and preservation of the planet that we inhabit. Climate change is a real problem and its existence can no longer be denied. The question is what can be done to reverse the effects of global warming? Many people are wondering if we should bother at all. This complex issue is being debated by politicians, economists, environmentalists, conservationists and members of the human race who are concerned with the long term effects our impact is having on the earth.

Climate change is the phenomena that affect the world’s weather, including shifts in temperature, ocean level, land, and precipitation. In the past few decades, scientists have learned that our planet’s climate has been changing at an alarming rate. These changes are now threatening the preservation of our planet. Most climate scientists agree the main cause of the current global warming trend is human expansion of the “greenhouse effect,” it is the warming that result when the atmosphere traps heat radiating from Earth toward space. (IPCC, 2007) The trapping of the long wavelength radiation leads to more heating and a higher resulting temperature. The climate change can affect everything in the world, not only natural environment, but also human society and the world economy.

While it would be self-deception to think that each individual had nothing to do with it, the fact is that human activities caused negative effects on climate change. Nations around the world have been contributing to climate...
