Illiad Reflection: Analyzing and Identifying Strengths and Weaknesses

While assessment tools can be identified as informal -such as deep, honest conversations- the Iliad assessment is a formal test that reflects on the specific skill set that attributes to leadership and interpersonal challenges and identifies you as a “high potential” in the business world. The assessed skills included initiative, decision-making, organization, communication and teamwork.Although, it is important to focus on personal weaknesses and try to improve them, it can lead to frustration and result in subtle and passive results. If concentrating on strengths and use them to improve weakness, the results will give unbiased information to make right career choices.

If looking at the results of Iliad, I can see that I did better than I expected. Self-evaluation is a good place to begin on review the strengths and weakness. When I conducted self-evaluation before the beginning of the exercise I took my time and thought about each aspect not on a personal level but rather in my thoughts I compared myself to thousands of undergraduates who are taking this test as well. I was trying to think through it logically and objectively about each skill and come up with an example or two that would verify the ability to use this particular skill. In this paper I will, first, identify my weaknesses and support with past situations my opinion why it became weakness. Second, working my way through the weaknesses to strengths and conclusions about the strengths I have. Third, part of the paper will focus on weaknesses and searching for possible solutions to address the weaknesses. The last conclude overall my participation and scores in the Iliad activity.
