Science - Amazing Spiderman Essay

A movie like The Amazing Spiderman's main imetus will always be that of entertainment yet with people these days watching and analysing every minute detail of these movies it has become vital that these films be based and in the realm of respective possibilty and can in a scientific way be concieved as possible. A great example of this newfound and important attention to detail is integral and vital to The Amazing Spiderman. Like all superhero movies there will always be some fantasy but in The Amazing Spiderman this fantasy is grounded by a firm knowledge and excecution of physics and applicable scientific processes. This is based on not only my opinion but on many leading universities and scientific instiutions and although there are bound to be small scientific blunders, in my opinion The Amazing Spiderman is a physically sound film.

Part 1

The first aspect of the film that i finds represents the accuracy to which it was produced, is the example of the 'spiderman suit'.

At many different times throughout the film Peter Parker is able to effortlessly grip to vertical walls and even glass like the screen shot above. At first glance this may seem to be impossible or another one of his fictional super powers yet Marvel themselves said it is entirley possible due to the construction of the suit replicating that of a geckos skin. This may seem absurd yet at closer inspection proves to be not only entirely possible but is being implimented in not only a commecial capacity but in military and midical uses nowadays.

Scientifically it seems almost impossible for an object to remain at rest on a vertical object with a graviational force pushing it down and close to no frictional force keeping the object to the side of the vertical wall yet it is the amazing natural evolutionary adaptation of a simple animal that makes this possible and brings inspiration to not only movies but modern day inventors.
