Global warming is one of the most alarming issues the world is facing presently, which makes us question the existence of the future generations. Mankind melting glaciers and wild animals will be facing a new challenge for survival because of climate change. There would be an increase in the intensity of droughts, storms, heat waves, melting glaciers rising ocean levels, and warming seas can damage the natural habitats of several animals, and might also damage people’s livelihood and communities. This essay will evaluate some solutions to the threatening issue of global warming like usage of nuclear energy and green transportation in order to make the survival of mankind in future generations possible. According to an article made by National Geography in 2007, some of the effects of global warming are already being experienced; like ice melting worldwide, especially on the north and south poles. Ocean levels are reported to increase somewhere around 7 and 23 inches before the century is over, and the continuation of snow melting at the poles could add somewhere around 4 to 8 inches. This causes floods and droughts to occur more frequently. (environment.nationalgeographic.com, 2007). As ecosystem changes—some species, which can bear extremely cold weather, are moving north and are becoming successful whereas other species are stuck and are on the verge of extinction. Less fresh water will be available as a big percentage of fresh water is in the form of glaciers and once it melts it will mix with the salty ocean water. According to a report by WWF there are a number of species and places which are in danger (worldwildlife.org, 2015)
