II. Jordan’s Childhood was a pretty normal childhood with some ups and downs.

A. Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 and was the third son of James and Delores Jordan.

1. He was born in Brooklyn, New York but moved to North Carolina as a young child as stated by www.sneakerflies.com

2. As Jordan got into high school he was getting good grades and was a very good athlete playing Basketball, Football, and Baseball. In the fall of 1978 MJ which is his nickname was a 5 foot 9 inch sophomore who got cut from the varsity basketball team.

3. The following year he grew over 5 Inches before the start of the season and was averaging 25 point per game and also was the first high school player in history to average a triple double.

B. The success of Micheal Jordan changed the whole game of basketball.

1. Michael Jordan played college basketball at the University of North Carolina and won the Athletic Coast Conference rookie of the year. He later led North Carolina to win the National Championship.
