A Point of Sales System is a system which helps customers make payments to the merchant in exchange for goods and services. The history of a Point of Sales System goes way back 40 years ago.

With the continues evolution of our technology today. Many companies have involved in information system. They use information technology to made their work easy and take less time. One of this information system is POS (Point Of Sales). A Point Of Sales system is an electronic system that provides businesses with the capability to retain and analyze a wide variety of offered products within an inventory and a day-to-day transaction data on a continuous basis. POS system is a valuable tool for a wide variety of business purposes, including tracking customer purchases and analyzing sales on a daily, monthly, or annual basis; and creating reports. In this project we are developing a POS than is link to a database server. A database server is necessary so that a data in the database will be synchronize.

The main purpose of this project is to develop a POS system for RACAL VisMin Corporation. Our POS system will cover the spare parts distribution of the company. They need this system to keep track of their transactions. This system will help the company to work faster and less paperwork.

Purpose and Description

* Administrator – they are the person who controls the entire system. It allows them efficiently modify available products by adding new ones and editing existing ones. They can register new employee, edit existing employee and remove the profile of the employee that are not working in the establishment. Generate company report such as sales and inventory.

* Cashier – it allows them to easily add and remove purchased products to the receipt as well as compute the total price, the value-added tax, and the change after receiving cash from customers. It also allows them to save, preview. Print well-documented receipts.
