BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

This study was design to give a more understanding of POS system particularly the hardware operation of the establishment. Here the researcher conducts a thorough study to implement solution for the problem.

CHAPTER 1-INTRODUCTION

Most of this day the business organizations are using latest technology to ease their transaction and to improve their business process to another level. They are now applying computerized systems to their transactions according to their needs. Point of sale system is one of the most systems that are used of many businesses. It helps to improve the process and to fasten the transaction with the customers. Point of sale system is commonly used in fast food chain, pharmacy store, grocery store and some of the business that needs to monitor their transactions, sales and financial status.

Today, businesses use the computer to assist in controlling and monitoring many aspects of the businesses, since manual approach in data processing could no longer meet the demands of increasing volume of transactions. The proposed project will enable the hardware store to increase their productivity to have greater profitability and to serve each consumer.

POS System seems to be the solutions for the problem of the study I conducted here in General Santos City. The hardware of my said study seems lot of difficulties that are facing in every day to day life transactions. It is great to them to implement POS System to make their transactions fast and easy, convenient for the benefits of the owners and the clients.

This study came up to make solutions for the hardware from manually operated to computerized system. It seems to be a great help for the company to implement point of sale system for the solution of their problem in day today life. It seems that they cannot make their best to make costumers happy and keep coming back for their slow performance in terms of handling everyday transactions.
