Listening Blocks Essay

There are twelve blocks in listening. The fisrt one is Comparing which means that you’re always trying to assess’ who’s smarter, more competent, more emotionally healthy you or the other person. Its basically like a competion on who’s better than who. I personally have used comparing a lot when I camr to my cousin and I. We would always and I mean always compete with eachother when it came to toys, clothes, books, and even when it came to whos cookies taste better? The second one is Mind Reading which means you’re really not paying too much attention when people are are talking but you’re trying to figure out what they’re really thinking and feeling. I sometimes use mind reading when it came to making friends because when you start meeting new people you always try to make a good first impression and sometimes people will like you and then there are others that just don’t and in the back of your head you’re wondering why is that and you start thinking to yourself are you not a good person? Did I do something wrong? I think when it comes to mind reading its like a little insecurity trait. The third block is Rehearsing which means you are preparing on what to say next. I would use this when it came to telling my mother I was at this place when really I was somewhere else with my friends. When it was time to go home
