US$15.6 Billion was the value of the Infrastructure As A Service (IAAS) market in cloud at the end of year 2014 and is projected to reach US$73.9 Billion at the end of 2022. Also cloud application accounted for 81 percent of mobile data service at end of 2014 and is forecasted to reach 91 percent at end of year 2019. Global Software As A Service (SAAS) market was US$49 Billion in 2015 and will be US$67 Billion in year 2018 and will be attending Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.14 percent. Just by looking at the numbers above there is no doubt that Cloud Computing is the future of data and huge amount of data is going to be in cloud very soon if we consider the growth rate. One question arises in our mind “How to secure this data?” The average data breach cost for world wide organizations have reached $3.8 Million according to IBM report and is increasing as more organizations are moving there data to cloud computing. This makes management of cloud computing application security a need of modern day cloud infrastructures.

Amazon Web Service (AWS) came a long way after launching its cloud computing service in 2006. Today AWS holds 29 percent market share in cloud computing and Gartner has rated AWS at top when graphed completeness of vision versus ability to execute. Below quadrant graph shows AWS standing as compared to the remaining big cloud-computing players.

Security is a core functional requirement for any Information Systems weather it is on cloud or weather it is on a physical infrastructure. When ever a new Information System project kicks off an effective Information System Management System (ISMS) forms the base of the new Information System to work efficiently and mitigate any security threats and breaches in future.
