Securing Ta-50 Gear

TA-50 gear is essential to every Soldier in the United States Army. All of the gear issued to each individual Service Member provides safety and security in a plethora of ways, not only providing physical safety and security, but emotionally as well. From the very beginning of my enlistment I’ve heard the same words said in many different ways “You have to have faith in your equipment.” Knowing that we are given only Americas best gives a radiating comfort; one, that when you are far away from home gives you the ability to stay strong and move forward so that you may come home safely. There is absolutely no substitute for the life of a human being and the military knows that keeping all of the individuals who choose to serve is the highest priority, greater than any mission. I will be following my opening remarks by sharing with you, the reader, the basics of TA-50, the importance of TA-50, how to properly secure all TA-50, and why TA-50 should not be stored in any vehicle; military or personal in fear of having it taken.

TA-50 gear is everything covered on an individual’s clothing record and there is a tremendous amount of gear. Making this even more interesting is that an individual clothing record is specific to one Service Member. For example I would not have the exact same TA-50 gear that a mechanic would due to the fact that I do not work with the same tools and equipment that the mechanics use on a daily basis so pulling a random clothing record and using it as an example would not do universal justice for this exact essay due to the fact that everyone’s clothing record is different. However, there are pieces of equipment that Soldiers will be issued, this will provide basic knowledge and a small example of what a Soldier is required to maintain:
