We have previously discussed in our lecture that the community is a basic unit in which everyone share a common virtue value, and goal. It is in the community wherein we are instilled different beliefs and practices since birth in which we apply in our daily lives today as teens and young adults. Each and every one of us grows within our own community and is taught socially acceptable beliefs wherein the majority practices and believes in.

We have the choice to adapt the practices and beliefs that our community believes in but since our parents are our first teachers, we easily adapt to their own beliefs and treat them as our own. It is at this point where we learn their ways of life believe in their religion and practice their own values.

We are faced a choice to choose our own beliefs because it gives us a purpose in our lives. It also gives us an identity that molds us to who we are right now. As we are exposed to these environments we learn to practice and adapt them and thus, we allow it to be a part of our lives and make a difference in ourselves.

In some point of our lives, we will come to face different people of different race, gender, religion, etc. And they will have different opinions than ours, different, beliefs and different values that have been taught to them in their community. The common treatment of people to others who have different beliefs than them is by excommunicating them and finding ways to avoid and prevent any communication between them.

Some people will have a different approach, they will try to influence others with their own beliefs and try to overpower the others belief and thus insisting that what they believe in is true.

What we should do is to have respect to others beliefs. We need to understand that everyone has his/her own belief and that we have no right to ridicule and judge them just because we don’t agree on our beliefs. It is better that we...
