Communication practices

American telephone and telegraph (AT&T) is one of the largest telecommunication companies in the word. AT&T uses email as the primary method for communication to the employees. Email messages periodically refer employees to an internal website that contains detailed information from the senior executive team. The company uses a closed circuit television system to present interactive question and answer sessions with the chief executive officer each quarter.

AT&T uses advertising, through billboards and television to communicate with customers and vendors. The message the company presents to the world is consistent with their goal of being a global leader in the communications industry.

Mission statement’s role in supporting the culture

AT&T's mission statement is to become the most admired and valued company in the world. AT&T will enhance people's lives and business by providing exciting technology for communications. The mission statement does support the culture in AT&T. The company's culture is one where the individual employee is not valued beyond the performance they provide to the bottom line.

Ethical standards and behavior

AT&T is an organization dedicated to high standards of ethics and corporate responsibility. AT&T uses their corporate ethics and governance policies as a measure to increase the public's trust and confidence. The corporate governance policies account for lawful actions, and their commitment to protecting their business interests. AT&T does not have a policy in place that takes corporate ethics to include any possible impacts on the social, economic or environmental issues in area's that it operates.

Organizational diversity
