WORK BASED ASSIGNMENT.

WORLD VISION KENYA

World Vision Kenya is actively engaged in the World Vision Child Health Now (CHN) campaign whose aim is to reduce under five child mortality. Malnutrition is an underlying cause of almost 50% of child deaths in Kenya.

World vision Kenya has been involved in providing humanitarian emergencies in conflict stricken areas especially in Northern Kenya where there is inter clan conflict and emergency for natural disaster such as floods which caused 93 deaths which occurred in 2013. The organization has also supported over two thousand school project by improving infrastructure and improving skills to facilitate their education for life project. They have also helped to combat female genital mutilation by raising awareness on the harmful effects, promoting girl child education and initiating alternative rites of passage in FGM affected communities.

Our vision for every child, life in all its fullness, our prayer for every heart, the will to make it so.

MISSION STATEMENT

World vision is an international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God.

In light of their main mission in Kenya, there is need to improve food security, water security, health care, disaster management and help to reduce inter clan conflicts.
