Chapter I

Introduction

Computerized library system nowadays makes the job of every librarian easy and consume less time for them to monitor and find books that are needed by the readers. They can now easily manage the library by monitoring the outgoing and ingoing books inside the library; monitors also the books that where it is been placed and where it should be return again after reading it. Librarian can now also easily monitor and identify what kind of book it is, if it is non-fiction or fiction. If it is Science fiction, historical novels, fantasy, encyclopedia, dictionaries and many more without referring to card catalog for reference.

System are a set of things that is form, build and connected to each other to perform a certain operations that is based on what is need to do and what output needed to produce. A combination of hardware and software components of computer that is used to make a complete system. The main purpose of the library system is to help librarians manage the books at the library in a less time without referring to card catalogs anymore due to they have a computerized records of books provided by accession number which serves as an identification for the books to be easily identified if it has a multiple copy but different in author, publishing house, and date published.

Library system enables the users to track and monitor the flow of the books. If it is still used by the reader or if it is been returned to the counter and needed to put back to the shelf where it is designated to be and tracks if a certain book is available to the library or not; also the user can easily produce records of books that has multiple copies, arrange it according to the kind of book it is, identify it by its author, date published, and its title.
