1. What principles of time and stress management are violated in this case?


As we can see is Chet overwhelmed with the heavy workload and he needs to find ways to reduce or even eliminate the stressors he has to deal with. He needs to delegate more and has to stop to try to solve every problem he is confronted with.

First of all Chet has to prioritize his tasks. That means that he has to focus on the most important tasks, after he is done with that he can handle the less important tasks. He hast to try to concentrate only on important matters that only he is able to solve and control when he is at his workplace. He has to let go of all the stuff he cant control and start using his time more efficient with using it for matters he can control. He has to understand that he can only do his best not more not less and nobody can expect more but his best.For urgent but less important matters he should instruct his subordinates to handle it. Furthermore he has to make a guide or list with the things and tasks he wants do accomplish today. He has to clarify his goals for the day what he wants to achieve. There are always unexpected issues and problems. Moreover does not finish the work he started. He should plan his day maybe the evening before not just think about it on the way to work. Furthermore he has to keep in mind that he can only handle one important task at a time otherwise he will get confused and this will result in failing each of the tasks. Trivial tasks which are less important he can try to solve coincident. Especially his multi tasking skills are in great demand here. Besides that Chet has to try to solve the most important matters at a time where he can work most efficient.
