Hybrid Theory/Philosophy of Case, Kouzes, and Drucker

According to Tarabishy in Understanding Entrepreneurial Leadership in Today’s Dynamic Markets, entrepreneurial leadership is one of an enterprising, transformational leader who operates in a dynamic market that offers lucrative opportunities. Along with the theories of Case, Kouzes, and Drucker, the dynamic views and focuses make it a great and vast teaching.

Case’s teachings revolve around taking care of people, following ones’s passions and persevering. He also talked about innovation and not relying on the Government for business growth but actually taking risks and entrepreneurship is what will help bring about success in the business world. His three P’s of success made him the CEO of AOL. He remembers that people are the key to having great organizations. His passion was really for starting video game machines that never took off. Mr. Case wanted to bring internet to every home and in doing so needed to partner up with Time Warner to continue on the path of trying to fulfill his passion. He continued on to succeed because of his perseverance. AOL was the first company to introduce Instant Messaging in 1985. One of the problems that he was faced with was the fact that only the Government could use the internet. Only in 1992 was the internet allowed to be used for commercial purposes. Amongst other acts of perseverance, when AOL wanted to merge with Time Warner, the lobbyist came out against the merger as fear of monopoly was the thought. Steve Case knows that he takes risks realizing that failure will occur. Some ideas will come to fruition much later.
