As the largest aerospace company, Boeing is the leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners as well as defense space and security systems. Boeing supports airlines, the United States government as well as customers in 150 countries (Boeing). Boeing’s products and services vary from both commercial and military aircraft, electronic and defense systems, weapons and satellites, in addition to other services and products.

To continually meet customers’ needs Boeing is constantly increasing its product line. Boeing’s corporate office is located in Chicago, Illinois, and they employ more than 165,000 people across the United States and in 70 different countries. Boeing has employees that represent the most diverse, innovative and talented workforces, as more than 123,000 employees hold college degrees (Boeing).

Boeing is a massive organization that is complex; therefore management planning is an essential task. As Boeing operates on a global level providing products for both commercial airliners and military organizations, planning is a necessity in order to successfully meet the needs of the company. The Boeing Corporation produces the latest innovations for both commercial and military organizations and their products are strictly regulate both their performance and safety.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States regulates the aircraft that Boeing and other companies produce. While focusing of these factors, conducting extensive planning must be done in order for Boeing to operate an effective business. A large role in the success of any company, especially one as large as Boeing, is management planning. It is also necessary for management planning to be used on all levels of the corporation’s structure in order for it to be most effective.
