Communication in Globalization

Imagine a world where one could speak only with the individuals in the surrounding community - a world where individuals have no awareness of what is happening on the outside. Communication makes it possible for people to talk to others 4,000 miles away. The process of communication has transformed the way businesses operate; businesses can successfully function across the globe without traveling. Globalization presents a clash between different cultures; company executives must revise their ways of thinking to adapt to the constant changes of the telecommunication industry. In order for a corporation to adapt, comparisons of major companies are researched to provide accurate information on cultural changes, the effects of multiculturalism on teamwork, and effective communication.

AT&T vs. T-Mobile

Diversity is having a variety in all aspects of a corporation. The telecommunication company AT&T is one of the many diverse companies in the United States. “AT&T Corporate” (2011) states, “As a global company that values individual perspectives, we touch diverse customers and markets to connect with customers through our multicultural outreach initiatives.” Known as the leader in cell phone, cable, and internet services, AT&T though diversity has a background with people from all different cultures and offers many languages other than English to their customers. The employees at AT&T are committed to the communities that they serve.
