Employees' Union

As a supervisor I have the responsibility of taking care of my employees and doing what’s right for them. A union wants to be able to inform employees the benefit of joining a union. Even though there are some advantages to being a part of a union there are also disadvantages. The disadvantages is that they able to remove anything that they are allowed to such as hours, being able to go to your normal management and certain benefits. As a supervisor I think that it is just a rumor that the union will be going to management with complaints. In most members of the union eyes is that they have security in the union. Like I said before the union has its ups and downs.

The plan that I will present to upper management will be simple. When it comes to explaining it to upper management I would have to point out that they are not the ones who have to deal with the employees when they go on strikes and refuse to work the supervisors do. There are some situations where the unions are the ones that deal with the strikes and sit ins. The employees will stay on strike until their demands are met. I would like the upper management to see that not all organization are meant to have unions or even need them as long the company takes care of their employees. The employees want to feel as though they are just as important to the company as the upper management and the supervisors. They want to have an equal opportunity as everyone else and that has to be explained clearly to the management team. I would inform management in order for the employees to work normally they will have to respect them just like everyone else. There is no need for the union to step in if management take their employees in consideration.
