Abstract

Every year that passes students who have graduated from high school are now entering a new chapter in their lives, College. Even though they decide to wait one year or even two years to start college, the cost of tuition still keeps going up and so are book prices. Some students are complaining about how much it cost for one or even two textbooks for each semester. They are considering with an alternative buying them or renting them online for a low price. However, the question still remains do you buy online or buy from the campus bookstore?

“One day, one night, Saturday’s alright. Online just fine, nighttime, anytime. Get your degree set yourself free.” What does that catchy song mean? Well it is theme song for National American University of course and it is where many students attend. From young people, to old people each has a purpose to get a degree and find a better job for them and support their family. However, they all seem to have the same problem. The rise of book prices going up and many are considering an alternative. Some are going online website such as amazon.com and cheapbooks.com to buy their books. The question still remains, which one do the students prefer in the end buying them online or getting them from the campus bookstore?

Cost of tuition going up

Every year the cost of tuition has been going up and this year is no different. The College Board reported that the average in state tuition and fees at four year public colleges surged 8.3 percent this fall, just as the President Obama released details of his plan to help students deal with a debt burden that has expanded to more than $1trillion ( McGuire, 2011).
