ABSTRACT

This article briefly summarizes TSUNAMI history and the transition of how such a devastating catastrophe has killed thousands of people. More importantly, we have to ask ourselves “Why?”

Supporting evidence of Tsunami’s are discussed as Gonzalez talks about the destruction that Tsunami caused, where they derive from and how we can better deal with catastrophes like tsunami.

TSUNAMI

In this brief article, “Tsunami”, published in May 1999, Frank Gonzalez discusses his analogies of Tsunami and the effects that it had on the north east coast and how it not only surprised people of our society but killed thousands. One of the most bewildering things is that no one ever saw it coming which was like an aftermath shock. The question we must ask ourselves is why did this happen and how can we be better prepared the next time? In fact, Gonzalez focuses on talks about the destruction that Tsunami caused, where they derive from and how we can better deal with catastrophes like tsunami. According to Gonzalez “Most tsunamis afflict the Pacific Ocean, and 86 percent of those are the products of undersea earthquakes around the Pacific Rim, where powerful collisions of tectonic plates form highly seismic subduction zones.” Hopefully through research scientist can get to the main cause and find out why they exist.

In society do we ever really think that a natural disaster is going to happen? The answer to that question is no. However, many of us do not know what a disaster consist of. In fact, throughout the world, there are many forces of nature, which contain massive destructive power. So no one will ever know the day or hour, somewhere on the globe, where floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, heat waves or even an eruption of a volcano may hit. However the most...
