Introduction

Capstone is a business module for us to learn collaboration and contribution in a team. We were able to contribute different knowledge in a fictitious company.

The score of the Game is not the most important in this course; the most important we need to learn in this course is teamwork as if in the real business. This would be very good for our future.

My Collaboration and Contribution

My approach to the interaction with other team members was to be friendly towards them, everyone was equal in our team. However, I took the leadership role in the team. This was done because no other team member wanted to take that task.

The team leaders responsibility was to make the final decisions. I took the role of team leader with seriousness. Every effort was made to motivate my fellow team mates as they had granted little time into studying the course material provided to us. I tried to separate the jobs of our company into separate fields (as it would be in a ‘real’ company), however I learned fairly early in the piece they had not done the jobs delegated to them.

When trying to motivate my team members I asked them to make their decisions, I would then assist them in any way possible to guide them to make the right the direction. Each of them had my phone number and I asked them to ring me at any time if they ran into problems.

I am unsure if my teammates liked me, because sometime I was too focused on Capstone and ignored their feelings and emotions. None of the other team members ever talked to me about the company, and I got the feeling they were very uninterested in the company, whereas I was very interested.

I kept learning how to be a good team leader. I never gave up my team. I knew they were all good people. When I learnt the other team members had not done what I had asked, my behaviour deterioated. I would punish them with comments like, ‘you contribute zero to this company, to this team’. I reminded them constantly...
