You were here to protect us, but who protects us from you?

America, a polyarchy country where freedom is praised in song and celebrated in elementary schools, baseball games, and every 4th of July. America has fought wars to keep our right to freedom. In particular, the American Revolutionary War. A war that has been written down as America's fight for freedom. This war involved citizens of the country fighting alongside with America's leaders of the time. But in today's society of 2012, America has evolved in various ways. With technology is at it's prime, people could now use the internet as a way to protest against the government which has caused a new war, a war with citizens against the government. The government has fought back by creating Acts such as the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and the Patriot Act to give themselves the right to conduct surveillance among citizens and keep civilians in oppression. In the past years, this country has been under attack continuously. So much that America has started to transition from a Polyarchy to a Fascist country. Recently incidents have been reported from the Occupy Movement of how government workers abused innocent people and that no justice has taken place. For instance, On November 15th, 2012, Jennifer Fox, a pregnant homeless women who attended an Occupy protest was reported that she was pepper sprayed and kicked in the stomach by a police officer. (Seattletimes.com) It is not proven that she was kicked by the officer but days after the incident, Jennifer Fox received bad news that she had miscarried. No action has taken place which clearly shows how the government has taking its power to far because it is starting to affect people more than it did before
