Major performance “Oops, I’ve got a loose screw.”

Part A: which aspects of space, time and dynamics (and their various components) have been used to communicate the intent of this work?

In section 1 of the major performance dance “oops I’ve got a loose screw”, space is used in many aspects such as the medium levels throughout the section to show the good and solid foundation of the robot, controlled and functioning normally. The shapes used in this section are angular and the body incorporates sharp linear lines to show a rigid robot look in the movement. Variation and contrast are also shown with varied different levels.

The direction and floor pattern in this section travels in a straight line to show the controlled and functioning robot. It shows the robot confined to a regimented life. The shapes created are all angular, flexed, strong and symmetrical which shows the robot working. To show the robot established and functioning, each movement is replicated on both sides of the body. Most of the movement is performed on the spot in section 1. While not moving, this shows the confines of a working robot. It is quite repetitive to show the movements reoccurring throughout the section to show the stereotypical view of a working robot.

The aspects of time used in section 1 consist of strong accents, which are shown on count 1. This assists in giving a jagged and rigid movement quality to the robot character. The tempo of the music is even and the movement mirrors this. These represent a good and functioning robot, working properly. Stillness is used throughout this section and it highlights and emphasises the staccato, percussive nature of the working robot.

The duration of this movement is even, isolated and sustained throughout to show the robot moving mechanically and working normally. The momentum of the music remains even and does not change in this section. It also helps to emphasise the robot working normally.

Strong uses of percussive dynamics are used...
