The Morganville Vampires Book One

Claire Danvers is at a college in Morganville, Texas. It is a bizarre college in an equally bizarre small college town. Claire is clever and almost geeky, she never really expected to fit in with the fashionable crowd and popular girls.

When she makes enemies with the infamous clique’s leader, Monica, she has no idea how bad things will get.

Unable to stay in her dorm, Claire looks for a place to sleep off campus. She finds an advert in a newspaper for a room-to-let in a creepy old house shared by a group of teenagers a few years older than her. Accepted into the house, she finally feels like she is making some real friends, even if they are a little odd.

Firstly, there is Michael, the owner of the house, he is only eighteen. Nobody has ever seen him during the day… Ever. He spends the night awake and the day asleep… people think!

Secondly, there is Eve, she is a Goth who works at the local coffee shop and is also a roommate in the mysteriously dark house that Claire was accepted into. She swears that Michael is not a vampire and is a night owl. Although, she also claims that Morganville is a town that is run by vampires, so she could just be crazy.

Finally, there is Shane. He is also eighteen and although he doesn’t seem to do anything much apart from making chilli and killing zombies on his computer games all day, Claire thinks he is totally awesome.

Claire’s new roommates are the best thing about living in Morganville because, as it turns out, Eve is not crazy and the town is run by vampires. In Morganville you have two choices – you either work for the vampires and have their protection or you are fair game and risk your life, which means, going outside at night or wandering around Morganville during the day… on your own could prove potentially lethal.
