Controlling Organized Crime

Throughout history there have been many definitions of organized crime but through further studies and research it was found that organized crime could only be as a criminal business. Organized crime is considered to be a group of individuals that consist of numerous ethnicities and transnational groups, which works and operates separately or together within legitimate businesses (Limbaugh, 2010). In our society and the world that we live in organized crime seems to appear at every corner of the globe. As a nation everyone works together to try and stamp out these national and transnational syndicates by using many resources. Resources like undercover operations, unidentified sources, surveillance, research analysis, forensic, multi-agency investigations, and the power of racketeering statutes that help us take down entire enterprises. As a nation we work together with other international groups to build cases and infiltrate other organized crime groups with global filiations.

Within this document there would be numerous things touched on that would give the audience a better understanding of how these criminal organizations operate and exist. Things like theories, there are many theories associated with these organizations such as; the alien conspiracy, social control, differential association, and strain and anomie theories. Also there will be other things discussed throughout this document like problems that can transpire as a result of organized crime, the legal limitations associated with combating organized crime, a federal law that supports anti-crime efforts, and a solution for controlling organized crime.

To get an understanding of how organized crime operates the theories mention in the above paragraph could assist researchers, society, professionals, and law enforcement by providing many solutions and causes. Supported with solid research,...
