Grandpa

Whenever I walk into my Grandpa’s house it always brings back great memories. His house always smells like the cologne that he loves to wear which always smells like a sweet and sour perfect sensation. Grandpa’s house feels like home whenever I walk in. It brings back memories of many fun holidays like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.

On Christmas my family goes to his house and opens gifts there that my grandpa generously gives to us, and then we go out to eat at Grey’s. On Thanksgiving we go to our cousin’s house with our grandparents and we would eat a huge meal. On Easter we used to go on egg hunts for eggs filled with candy and money and other fun items. He spends his hard earned money for these big dinners, gifts and fun activities. Grandpa gives us a good reminder on how God is the meaning of Easter and not all money and candy.

Grandpa is a Godly man who is almost always with a Bible and coffee. He reads Bible verses to me sometimes and teaches me good lessons about how to live with integrity. Grandpa also loves to spoil me whenever he sees me. He always leaves out candy and he even bought a Wii just for me when I come over. My grandpa says he uses it to play golf when he’s bored, but I know that he got it just for me. He likes to buy stuff for me that I do when I get bored, so he has a computer, iPod, and video games because he cares about what I like to do in my free time.

Every time it’s my birthday, he makes special arrangements. One time when I was younger, we went to my favorite restaurant, Cheeseburger n’ Paradise and I opened a brand new Ps2 which was awesome at the time.

Since my grandpa gives so much to me, I try to help him out with any work he needs help with. For example I help him mow his yard, when he needs to do something else, or chop wood for him while he is at work, but he always gets mad when I do work for him because he is a very giving and independent person who does things on his own.
