The Genericville City Council has brought forth a proposal to reduce the population of mosquito with an insecticide spray called malathion. All members of the city council have their viewpoints on this proposal but it is up to me to decide whether or not malathion should be used in the city.

After thorough review and assessment of this spray, I believe that the benefits of using this spray is more than the risks that are involved. The information I gathered about the risks of melathion shows that: Harzards Identification is associated with the use of this product. The assessment shows the health risk that could arise as a result of exposure to malathion. The adverse health effects could lead from mild to severe, however, these issues can only occur if the safety precautions are not properly followed, or if people are not properly educated on the usage of the product. The second risk assessment examined was the dose-response. If an individual is mild affected, the effects are minimal if not none. However, severe exposure to malathion may cause blurred vision, vomiting, difficulty breathing, dizziness, etc. Malathion is applied at a low dose, so the severe adverse effects is unlikely to occur in most people. The next assessment on malathion was on exposure. People who live in areas or are usually in areas that have been sprayed are more likely to be affected. To control exposure to malathion, humans are caution to use personal protective equipment while handling this insecticide spray and should also stay away from areas that have been sprayed
