Have you ever thought about how or why you came to the point in your life that you at now? How certain things make a person think and act the way they do? How we formed our worldviews, or what our worldview even is? everyone has one; it dictates how we view the world and how we analyze what happened to us and why it happened in that certain way. My worldview is survival of the fittest.

When hanging out with friends you have to make sure that you always have some sort of back up plan just incase you get stuck somewhere. My friend Princess is a prime example of why I say, it is survival of the fittest. A few weeks ago she came by to pay me a visit, hang out for the weekend. I asked her before she left the house if she had five dollars on her just in case we have to take a bus or train home, I always make sure that I have at least five dollars on me at all times when I leave the house. I also told her that if she gets stuck out here on campus that I cannot help her. when three o’clock rolled around and everyone decided to part ways, she found herself stuck without a back-up plan and without any money. I stayed outside with her until 5am but decided to go out bed at that time to get some sleep for the next day. I never leave the house without having my five back-up plans and five dollars to get home if I need to. hence the reason why I know how to survive. I was Princess at one point in my life, I couldn't keep that up. At some point we all have to grow up and go into the real world.

Living without a mother for the past three years has been hard. I have had to learn what it is hard surviving without a mom right there beside you; but for me it was just another challenge for me in my worldview. Being twenty now, almost twenty-one in a few months, I learned and am still learning how the world works, not having a mother there makes it that much more difficult. I lost my mother, my protector, at the age of seventeen; but I was on my own since I was fourteen. I...
