Gini Woy Photography is owned by Gini Woy who started her own business a little over a decade ago. She started her own business after working as a photographer for a large commercial business. She gained the experience and expertise she needs there to launch her own photography company. She works with clients including Penn State University, Hershey Entertainment, and Reading Hospital. She takes photos that can be used as advertisements. Although she has big named clients she has come across many challenges. Two challenges she states in the article, is that being a working mom and getting people to appreciate the price of her photography. Today with the economy being the way it is it is hard for some people to spend money on these they do not deem necessary. However, professional photographers have the experience and skills to make any portrait or ad look wonderful with little to no effort. Their job is taking photos and their product is capturing a moment or subject. Knowing the market and giving people want they want is ultimately how Ms. Woy keeps her business booming. She offers two approaches to her customers, driving to them directly or having them come to her studio. Not many photographers offer this type of service. Ms. Woy also knows she must adjust with the times. She saw a decrease in clients so she changed her pricing to bring in more business. She understands that she needs to be flexible and positive even in difficult times. Although business is slow, she is taking the down time to work on her talent by taking pictures and volunteering her skills at her children’s schools. By volunteering her services in different places more people will be able to see her work and hopefully think of her when booking their next shoot. The more contacts she can develop now will help her business in the future. Gini Woy knows what it takes to keep her business from failing.
