Flowchart for a Process

Many people have daily duties or routines that have become monotonous or performed without second thought. Creating a flowchart can have a positive effect on the process used to perform these duties or tasks. Each morning I have the task of getting my children ready for preschool and daycare. The task requires much time and consideration to ensure they arrive in a timely manner. Creating a flowchart will improve this process as well as show the different factors that have an effect on the process. This paper will evaluate the factors considered in preparing the kids in the morning and show a flowchart to improve the process. Data will also be presented to help measure the entire process.
Every morning on Monday through Friday I awake to get my two children prepared to attend school. Mornings are difficult because of the many things that are involved in the process. This process starts with waking up at an early enough time to allow all the necessary steps to take place. My four year old has to be to preschool before 8:30 am to prevent getting a tardy. Next, I have to wake the children, dress them both including some details such as brushing teeth, brushing hair and other grooming methods. Then, I have to get their clothing for the day to dress the kids. I also have to prepare a diaper bag for my one year old. While preparing the children and any belongings that have to go along with them I must also get myself ready. Once both kids are ready I then drive them to two separate destinations with the furthest taking about 15 minutes from the house.
There are several factors that have an effect on how smoothly the process of getting the children to school is. Getting their clothes together and ironed the night before is one factor that determines how the mornings go. If outfits have been previously picked it can save time in the morning.
