On item number 1, 100% of male Engineering student and 100% of male Tourism student in the Lyceum of the Philippines University believed that a person would still give help multiple times to another person even it will not benefit him/her anything also, on the same item, 60% of female Engineering student agreed while 40% disagreed and 80% of female Tourism student on the same school agreed on the same item while 20% of them have disagreed. Following fairness norms helps us build and maintain good relationships with others. Under benefitted people may become angry and resentful while over benefitted people experience guilt. Some psychologist proposed that true altruism contains no self interest and represents a sort of pure form of self-sacrifice and selflessness. By some means, if a person gains something while helping another person, then this tarnishes the act and invalidates it as being altruistic. On item number 2, 100% of both male Engineering and Tourism student in the Lyceum University believed that the mood of the person could influence him/her to act pro-socially also, 100% of female Engineering student believed on the same item and 80% of female Tourism student agreed and 20% of them have disagreed. Research indicates, however, that the effects of emotions on pro-social behavior can be more complicated than we might expect. Children seem very quick to pick the idea that it’s better to request something from a parent when that person is in a good mood rather than in bad one.
