U.S. Troop Withdrawal Motivated by Iraqi Insistence, Not U.S. Choice

In his analysis posted in Nationaljournal in October 22, 2011, entitled “Troops Withdrawal Motivated by Iraqi Insistence, Not U.S.choice”, Yochi J. Dreazen comments on the latest exciting and surprise news given to American families about the Iraq War from President Obama who gave his speech in the briefing room of the white house on Friday. The author explains that the President’s speech formally declares that “the last 43,000 U.S. troops will leave Iraq by the end of the year was designed to mask an unpleasant truth: The troops aren’t being withdrawn because the U.S. wants them out. They’re leaving because the Iraqi government refused to let them stay”.

In the way of becoming a responsible citizen there are powerful barriers to political thinking, such as individual unwillingness to develop it, changing patterns of media consumption, and “spin” by political leaders, dixit Thomas S. Patterson. The White House uses mass media and internet networking to spin the information to favor their position. Based on facts, Dreazen claims that the President hides the real facts and portrays a ‘holidays gifts’ to American family.

In his article, he explains how Mr. Otman requested for that drastic withdrawal while the American government wants to leave at least a small group.

Mr.Yochi is not trying to be sarcastic on the issue, but past history has shown that American government has the reputation to poke his nose in everything. The American position, as the worldwide powerful nation, makes them omnipresent and this is what keeps alive the idea of manifest destiny for the American people.
