Motion graphics offers new narrative possibilities compared to traditional print graphics – but motion graphics may also introduce limitations easily overcome by non-moving graphics. Take at least two examples of each kind of graphic form and compare the communicative strengths and weaknesses of each.

Technological advancement is a factor that impacts nearly all industries.

In graphic design, the way in which we are capable of presenting and communicating ideas is ever expanding, due largely in part to these advancements. Particualry in the world of motion graphcis, since the mid 1980s we have seen a huge increase in the amount of designers choosing to convay there message using motion graphics.

Throughout this essay I am going to investigate the positives and negatives of using motion graphics compared to print graphics. I will do this by comparing two motion graphic films with two forms of print graphics.

Numerous factors contribute to the reason why motion graphics are favoured to print graphics today,

Motion graphics for

Print is dead (more people using the internet, tv adverts, promotions for adverts, people want to feel the product, see the product in use, its current its modern, reflects the company/brand)

Print (can be timeless, and viewed on paper in magazines, can-cant reach to the masses to educate people.

limatation: wont be able to have in print or newspapers, the poster is cleaver in its own right
