Scientology

The Beginning

As the first week of class started, the final assignment tasked everyone to do a paper on religion of religion of choice for a final grade. Choosing a religion with no affiliation with as the one practiced or grew up with. Pondering over the decision for a few hours deciding on what religion to select for the paper, choosing a religion possessing no idea about but had an interest in learning about was a difficult choice. Rose as a Christian in the Methodist church from a small infant until up into the teenage years, not a religious person but a spiritual person, baptized in the church never developing that warm and fuzzy feeling of the existence a more powerful force controlling or influencing in any way.

In that week choosing the religion of Scientology to do the paper on because of what was heard from various sources or remembered reading from newspaper articles but possessing not possessing a clue about what scientology was about or what kind of religion was researching. Thinking one did not believe there was a God and their concept of how one existed was from the science of evolution. Hearing they were some sort of cult that communicated with aliens, sometimes certain individuals traveled with them to other places beyond planet earth. Hearing another story and was said to have happen was the creator of Scientology started the religion to finance all of his investments he had occurred and the continuing development of Scientology. Doing research for this paper cleared up and answered so many questions to ask and realizing how much not knowing about the religion chose for the project.

The Interview

Sending out an e-mails to two different orgs before week five to set up an interview but had no response until week six; a man called and invited to come to a service the nest Sunday.
